On this Guided Fungi Walk you will discover more about the habitats and ecology of fungi, looking closely at these wonderful and sometimes bizarre organisms. You will learn how to identify different species by their shape, colour and smell. Hucking Estate is a 573 acre (282 hectare) site offering an engaging and varied mix of habitats, set in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ancient and newly planted woodland, carpets of wildflowers throughout the spring and summer, open rides and chalk grassland areas are all home to a wide variety of wildlife.
From 10:00 to 13:00.
This is not a foraging event. We are not collecting for food and will leave fungi for others to enjoy!
The gentle walk will include muddy footpaths and slopes, so please make sure you wear appropriate footwear. Please dress according to the weather conditions on the day, good footwear is a must.
