Langley Vale Wood needs you!
Saturday 26 January 2019, from 10:00-15:00
Join us for our last ever public day of tree planting at Langley Vale Wood. Whether you've planted with us before or want to have a go for the first time, you're welcome at our event on Saturday 26 January from 10:00-15:00. It’s a free event but booking is essential – reserve your place below.
Langley Vale Wood is the Woodland Trust’s First World War Centenary site for England. You will be helping us plant up to 10,000 trees on the day out of a total of 70,000 we hope to get in the ground in the 2018/19 planting season. We are creating a mosaic of habitats on site, rich in wildlife and fully open to the public to explore.
Parking and getting on site:
There is no car park at Langley Vale Wood, so parking for the event has been arranged with Epsom Downs Racecourse.
Minibuses will be shuttling to and from the racecourse from 09:45 to 15:20.
Once you have parked, make your way to the minibus pick up point. Minibuses will drive you straight to Langley Vale Wood. Please note that the entrance we will be using is not a public access point for the site, but for this event only.
When you would like to leave, make your way to the drop off point to wait for a minibus which will return you to Epsom Downs Racecourse. Could we kindly request that you take care in not letting the mud from your boots and spades get on the walls of the minibuses.
The total journey time from Epsom Downs Racecourse car park to the planting area is approx 10 minutes. The event opens at 10:00 and closes at 15:00. You can attend for as long as you like. To ensure you have enough time to plant trees, we ask you to have parked at the racecourse by 13:00 at the latest.
