Join in with our very first Nature Detective Live event in and around the waters of Eller Beck.
There are two sessions to choose from - book one or both for a day's nature fun! Be warned - you will get wet feet - and that applies to grown ups too!
Morning session - Explore the mini beasts living in The Round Dam with an hours pond dipping session. Come dressed for messy play on the edge of the pond as we dip for mini creatures from the deep. See if you can work out whats in the water using our dipping tool kit, nets and pictures with help from a mini beast expert. Children £6 Adults £1 11am - 12.30
Afternoon session - Build a mini raft made from twigs, leaves and other woodland finds and get ready for a raft race! After a raft building demontration; set to work with your grown up and build your own mini raft. Once you've built your raft its time to get into the shallows of Eller Beck for a raft race! Wear waders, swimming shoes, swim sandals or wellies with long trousers/covered legs- your feet and legs will get wet so a towell and change of clothes is wise. Race your raft with the help of Woodland Trust Volunteers who will be in the water at the finish line.
Age 5+ only, all children in the water must be closely supervised and accompanied by an adult ratio of 1-1. River access is subject to water levels and weather on the day. Children £6 Adults £1.00 2pm-3.30pm.
Statying for both sessions? We have a large seating area in the wood - bring lunch and drinks with you!

A pop up tent will be available as changing area for the afternoon session.
